Drake is coming to take the summer by storm as he confirms his album Certified Lover Boy will be dropping in the next few months.
He confirmed the news on Saturday, June 12th during a guest appearance at Ultimate Rap League's N.O.M.E XI battle rap event.
During the event, Drake sat down for an interview with Nunu Nellz and underground battle rapper Tsu Surf where he not-so-subtly dropped the news that CLB would be dropping soon.
While not giving an exact date, Drake alluded to the timeframe when asked about attending the Summer Madness battle rap event, which is advertised to be August 1st.
“I’ll be there,” Drake responded. “My album will be out by then.”
This news means that fans can expect to have CLB in their libraries by the end of July.
This is still a far cry from the original release date set for January 2021, which was postponed due to Drake’s knee surgery in late October 2020, with the reason being that he needed to focus on his recovery.
“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” Drake wrote in an Instagram story. “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”
Certified Lover Boy will be the sixth studio album released by Drizzy.
